Mina Starsiak Hawk says she misses good bones. ‘The majority of my adult life was spent making the show.’

“I miss real job. The fun. The antics. On Instagram, HGTV star Mina Starsiak Hawk reflected on how her long-running show had a positive impact on her life.

In a series of Instagram Stories aired Sunday, Oct. 13, she answered fans’ concerns, including one about if she misses filming Good Bones.

“I grew up making Good Bones,” she explained. “I started in my twenties. This year, I turn 40. “I spent the majority of my adult life making the show.”

“I miss the real work,” she added. “It’s fun. The antics. Amazing partnerships. I had experiences that I would not have had otherwise. “I definitely miss it.”

The first run of the show, which featured Starsiak Hawk and her mother, Karen E. Laine, renovating Indianapolis homes, ended in October 2023. A three-episode spinoff aired in August, focusing on the mother and daughter’s “new beginnings” as they embarked on distinct projects in different states.

In the first episode of the limited series, Mina, who has two children with husband Steve Hawk—son Jack, 6, and daughter Charlie, 4—transforms an Indiana lake property into a refuge for her young family.

In the second and third episodes, Laine remodels a fixer-upper in Wilmington, North Carolina, to create her dream beach house. While on the show, she mentioned retiring there, but she put the property up for sale two weeks ago.

Mina previously mentioned on her podcast, Mina AF, that conflicts arose between her and her family during the show’s last season, which aired in 2023. She admitted that she wasn’t “in a great place” with either Laine or her brother Tad.

In October 2023, she said about her mother, “We don’t talk.” “We haven’t in a long time.”
