Done Robert Saleh is out of NYJets Watch video now …

Robert Saleh was fired as head coach of the New York Jets two days after the team suffered a hard defeat to the Minnesota Vikings in London. Beyond the fact that the season is only five weeks old, there have been some disclosed information about the circumstance that set it apart from the norm. There were rumors that Saleh was not given the chance to address his squad as he was leaving, something that sacked coaches frequently have the opportunity to do, and that he was led out of the Jets’ practice facility in Florham Park, New Jersey by security. The most intriguing aspect, though, may have been that Saleh arrived at work on Tuesday just like he would on any other Tuesday without receiving any kind of advance notice or more discreet notification.

For those who do not understand the reference, the video is a rough cut of a scene from the classic mafia film “Goodfellas,” in which a different group located in New Jersey gives one of their colleagues a very unpleasant surprise. In the film, “Tommy,” played by Joe Pesci, is invited to a ceremony where he would officially join the criminal family as a “made man.” However, Tommy is assassinated as a cold-blooded retaliation for a murder he committed nine years prior. Saleh portrays Pesci’s Tommy in the ProFootballTalk clip, with general manager Joe Douglas and owner Woody Johnson of the Jets edited in as the mobsters escorting him in. Aaron Rodgers is waiting for them when they go into the room, a reference to the reports that the seasoned quarterback was involved .
