ESPN REPORT: Eagles ripped – ‘Poor coaching’ & Jalen Hurts ‘Liability’

With his recent criticism of the Philadelphia Eagles and their star quarterback Jalen Hurts, ESPN commentator Dan Orlovsky has stirred much controversy. Hurts was referred to as a “liability” by Orlovsky, who bluntly dubbed the Eagles a “poorly coached football team” during a recent ESPN piece. Orlovsky remarked, “That’s a badly coached football team.” “Observe their recording. First, has anyone on the team improved since the start of 2023?” After that, the veteran NFL quarterback chastised Hurts harshly for leading the Eagles to the Super Bowl the previous year. “Jalen Hurts, in a matter of 20 games, has gone from the MVP in the Super Bowl to a liability on offense,” Orlovsky said. Orlovsky’s evaluation has generated discussion, especially because the Eagles’ inability to produce downfield has been exacerbated by the absence of important players like wide receivers DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown. Hurts has 163 rushing yards, is now ranked 11th in passing yards (930), and has six touchdowns overall despite the absences. Calling Hurts a “liability” seems premature given his recent success, even though turnovers have been a problem.

With a record of 2-2, the Eagles will get a week off to regroup before playing the Cleveland Browns in Week 6. Star players should be back from injuries soon, giving the Eagles a chance to win back supporters like Orlovsky. Although the criticism hurts, Philadelphia supporters should remember that this squad was contending in the Super Bowl at the greatest level only a year ago. Hurts will have the opportunity to silence his detractors and lead the Eagles back into NFC contention as the season goes on.
