Nick Bosa: Playing on Thursday after blowing a lead against the Cardinals is a blessing in disguise

Because of the short turnaround from Sunday, players often dislike playing on Thursday night, but 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa isn’t grumbling about the schedule this week. Bosa is excited about the 49ers’ Thursday night game in Seattle because it will offer the squad an opportunity to move on from Sunday. With just over a minute remaining in the game, linebacker Kyzir White picked off Brock Purdy to give the Cardinals a 24-23 victory. At halftime, the Niners lead the Cardinals 23-10. However, the next 30 minutes saw no scoring for the Niners.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan said much the same thing. It’s better to only have to wait until Thursday than to have to wait until next Sunday, he added, adding that there is nothing that can be done to undo what happened on the field on Sunday. After losing to the Giants on Sunday, the Seahawks are also entering Thursday night on a negative note. The NFC West standings will favor the club that can bounce back the best going into Week Seven.
