Bonta rips Nick Bosa for postgame comments: 'I'm sick of it'

The 49ers are 2-3 after what was supposed to be the easiest stretch of the season. Now they’re on their way to Seattle for a Thursday night game that has the potential to define the season.

One of their leaders, Nick Bosa, who had no sacks but intercepted Kyler Murray, was questioned after the game about James Conner’s release in the second half after struggling in the first. He claimed the 49ers did not adjust well.

“They were giving us a different perspective on the zone read. I believe that in all of our losses, we prepared well, but teams are playing us differently and doing things differently, and we need to adjust a little better. Just showing different looks than what we saw on tape. Just need to adjust and bring him down.”

Bonta Hill was not pleased with Bosa’s statements.

“Another year and another Nick Bosa soundbite throwing coaching staff under the bus,” Hill said. “And you know what? I’m really bored of it. I am tired of it because Shanahan allowed it to happen last year. He permitted Bosa, Warner, and several other players to throw Steve Wilks under the bus, which was criminal. You don’t do that in public, but they did, and the fans loved it, and everyone went, pitchforks in hand, for Steve Wilks. And I’m not even claiming Steve Wilks is great. He had to leave. I got it. “He had to leave.”

Hill continued to blast Bosa over the comments.

“After signing a five-year, $170 million contract extension with $122 and a half (million) guaranteed, $50 million signing bonus, and I got to hear from number 97, Nick Bosa, throwing the staff under the bus once again,” Hill added. “How about you beat a double team? How about you make an impact play in the fourth quarter? How about you do something, Nick Bosa? What about playing the run? How about you don’t dive into an RPO with your head cut off, allowing Kyler Murray to run 45-50 yards? I am so tired of Nick Bosa making excuses and throwing people under the bus. I’m sick of it.”
