BREAKING: Top NFL insider reveals Philadelphia Eagles rumor killer about potential Haason Reddick return this season

Although it appeared that the Philadelphia Eagles could be able to acquire Haason Reddick again prior to the NFL trade deadline in one month, a recent report has revealed the NFL regulation that prevents that from happening.
Haason Reddick, a two-time Pro Bowl player, has had a dismal season. He knew exactly what he wanted out of 2024. Obtain a new contract extension to avoid running the danger of becoming hurt in the last year of his existing agreement. Sadly, the Eagles showed little desire to assist him in accomplishing that come springtime.

Thus, they sent him to play for the New York Jets. According to reports, Gang Green believed the native of New Jersey would suit up and that the two sides would reopen contract negotiations during the season. But in his pursuit of a new, long-term agreement, Reddick has other ideas. He has persisted in his holdout and accrued fines totaling more than $8 million.

There have been rumors in recent weeks that Haason Reddick will be traded for the second time this season, with discussions at a standstill. There are even rumors that he might be sent back to Philadelphia. Despite the controversy from earlier in the season, a Jets insider even hinted last week that the gifted pass rusher would be amenable to such a situation.

Nevertheless, NFL Network league insider Ian Rapoport disclosed this week why, given existing NFL regulations, that would not be possible.

Reacquisition rules in the NFL prevent Haason Reddick from joining the Philadelphia Eagles again.

According to the NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement’s “Reacquisition of Traded Player” rules, a traded player is not allowed to play for their previous team for two seasons unless specific conditions are met.
