The story of Haason Reddick has continued longer than anybody could have imagined, and as the New York Jets prepare for their Week 4 matchup with the Denver Broncos, it doesn’t seem like it will ever finish. Until now, anyhow. Fans of the Jets with keen eyes, who often browse the team’s official store and website for products, spotted something odd on Thursday. Reddick’s No. 7 jersey is already on sale and may even be found in the store’s “new arrivals” section. Although it’s unclear whether this is a technical or logistical glitch or a portent of things to come, Jets fans haven’t let that stop them from speculating hysterically on social media.

Without Reddick, the Jets’ pass rush has functioned admirably, coming into Week 4 ranked third in the NFL in total sacks. In addition, Jermaine Johnson’s season-long Achilles tear has cost the squad. Even so, in what is expected to be an all-out season, it would be wonderful to have the Jets’ largest offseason acquisition in the building. One of the most gifted players on the team, Reddick is helping the Jets win a Super Bowl. He makes the squad stronger than it would be without him. Jets fans are undoubtedly hoping that this latest development—if you want to call it that—means something, even though it’s unclear if it’s more than just a passing fantasy.
