Fans of the Green Bay Packers have seen this already.

Shortly after leading the New York Jets’ second touchdown drive of the game on Thursday night, Aaron Rodgers had a quite odd conversation—to put it mildly—with head coach Robert Saleh.

For the Jets, everything appears to be going smoothly. Rodgers, who threw for nearly 200 yards in the first half, appears to be back to his former self. His first touchdown at MetLife Stadium following his trade to the Jets was shared with former colleague Allen Lazard of the Packers. Breece Hall then increased their lead to two touchdowns with a one-yard touchdown run.

But as the Jets scored their second touchdown and Rodgers turned to return to the sideline, something wasn’t quite right.

In an awkward “celebration,” Aaron Rodgers and Robert Saleh embrace in Week 3.
Rodgers seemed to say something to Saleh before leaving, as he celebrated with his head coach. The judge is you. This is the video:

Though it’s difficult to hear, Rodgers seemed unhappy about something. Perhaps it was a decision made earlier during the drive or the play call? After all, the Jets managed to score a touchdown, so everything is okay, right? It’s difficult to say if it’s nothing and they’re both just enjoying themselves.

Could it be that we’re exaggerating and there’s nothing to it?

However, Rodgers didn’t appear happy (though perhaps he was? ), which is even more unexpected given how much control the Jets offense has had. It’s difficult to imagine that Rodgers, who is 40 years old and recovering from an Achilles tear, is playing some of his finest football of the year. The four-time MVP is moving with ease and producing throws reminiscent of Aaron Rodgers. The “Green 19” cadence sounds fantastic once more.

It feels like the old days when he throws to Lazard early and often. The Rodgers-Saleh embrace may or may not have any significance. In any case, it appeared strange.
