Report: Jannik Sinner Have Been Withdraw From Laver Cup Open Because Of…… See More

The Laver Cup CEO has responded to Jannik Sinner’s absence after the world No. 1 player was not lured to Berlin by the organizers. The two-time Grand Slam winner has never participated in the team competition designed by Roger Federer. However, after recently speaking with Sinner, the Laver Cup organizers are hopeful things will alter. Large-name competitors have always been lured to the Ryder Cup-style competition, particularly while Roger Federer was active and able to represent Team Europe. Over the years in the competition, the Swiss star has forged formidable doubles combinations with Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, his opponents. The complete Big Four were on the team when Federer retired in 2022. Additionally, Carlos Alcaraz, a four-time Grand Slam winner, is competing in his first Laver Cup this year. However,

Sinner is yet to be included in the tournament lineup. In response to questions about his absence from the seventh edition in Berlin this year, Laver Cup CEO Steve Zacks disclosed that efforts to bring the Italian on board had advanced. He stated on Friday, “Look, the way the system works is the top three players on both sides are invited every year.”

They all agreed, and more, as you proceed down the line, in the case of the World. However, it always boils down to people’s schedules and the priorities they have at any given moment. Djokovic participated in the Laver Cup in 2018 and 2022, but he has also missed it this year. Sinner might also shortly receive his Team Europe introduction. Zacks went on, “So Novak has participated, for sure.” Jannik hasn’t arrived yet. I’m aware that we’re now speaking with him. We would adore having him. However, they occasionally have to commit to particular tournaments due to their schedules, sponsor obligations, and other factors. They do require a break, and occasionally we miss it since it occurs during the week of the Laver Cup.

For the time being, Laver Cup organizers are thrilled to have Alcaraz attend their event after initially discussing a participation with his team two years prior. “Obviously Carlos Alcaraz is with us, which is, after having such a terrific run as of late, to get him into the Laver Cup fold, really excited,” stated Tony Godsick, Federer’s agent, who also co-created the tournament.
