Jeanie Buss: Lakers’ LeBron James Might Be Greatest Of All Time

Jeanie Buss: Lakers’ LeBron James May Be The Greatest Of All Time.

What Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has accomplished at his age is remarkable, and he remains one of the top players in the NBA as he enters his 22nd season.

James could have left the Lakers this offseason to pursue another title, but he chose to re-sign and likely conclude his career in Los Angeles with his son Bronny James.

One of the reasons LeBron has felt at ease in L.A. is his connection with owner Jeanie Buss, which is said to be stronger than ever.

And Buss is clearly grateful to James, applauding his contributions to the company both on and off the court, according to Chuck Schilken of the Los Angeles Times.

“He consistently delivers. He puts in the work. He is more than just a global brand; he is our leader. He’s our team’s captain, and he sets the tone and tempo by working hard. Nobody can complain about the work if you see someone with a résumé and a lengthy career; nobody can complain about having to practice if he is eager to do so. And he does. He simply fascinates me. I’m not sure what more to say.

“In terms of my expectations for the club, I can sit here and tell you that the Lakers have always played for a championship, as we all know, with Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson, Phil Jackson, Pat Riley, and Dr. Buss. That is who we are. But this is just me talking. I really want the games to start so we can see what these people are going to do. I’ll let them tell the story because they’re the ones who will truly demonstrate their abilities.”

Buss went on to further commend James, especially given how he performed at the Olympics this summer:

“It’ll be an exciting season, for sure. I mean, how did LeBron play at the Olympics? “He could be the best of all time.

While Buss continues to believe in James’ abilities on the court, he will most certainly require additional support to compete for a title.

LeBron has always been one to push the front office to make changes, so it will be fascinating to watch if that happens again this season if the Lakers start slow.

Jeanie Buss: LeBron James’ maximum salary is a bargain for the Lakers.

LeBron James re-signed with the Lakers this offseason for near-maximum money, but despite his age, Jeanie Buss revealed why she sees it as a good deal for the club.

“It was crucial to LeBron, and while he is our highest-paid player, he remains a bargain to me. He’s simply great. Because we’re in a salary cap league, we can only pay him so much. He not only increases our league’s reputation, but also our international standing. He’s a major star and an excellent leader on this team. What he does for our youth athletes and for the community. We are pleased to be his partners. It’s the same with Magic Johnson and Kobe Bryant; because we’re in a capped league, they arguably should have been paid twice what they are. However, we can only pay him the maximum.
