When the Texas Longhorns host the UTSA Roadrunners on Saturday night, they will be looking forward to another week of college football action. Steve Sarkisian, the head coach of Texas, has already made a few audacious remarks to the media this week.

He knows how important it is to respect opponents and not ignore any of them. Last week, the Texas Longhorns defeated the Michigan Wolverines on the road with a significant victory.

Ryan Wingo, a freshman wide receiver, has received praise from Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian during the first two weeks of the college football season.

On Wednesday, Steve Sarkisian held a media conference to discuss his team. Among the topics he discussed was Ryan Wingo, a rookie wide receiver. For the first two weeks of the Texas Longhorns’ college football season, Wingo has been a vital member of this offense. Speaking with Sports Illustrated’s Scott Salomon, Sarkisian said:

“He is a diligent individual. He is aware that he is not an expert in everything. He accepts firm guidance and wants to be coached. That was evident in the spring game, but when you find out, how is the person going to know that he might play early as he makes the plays when his opportunities present themselves? That was evident during our fall camp scrimmages. He didn’t let us down, as evidenced by his impressive catches in the first week and, most notably, his huge reverse that put us inside the five-yard line in Ann Arbor last week.

For the Texas Longhorns this season, Ryan Wingo has caught four passes for 70 receiving yards. He has not yet made it to the end zone while rushing or receiving. Additionally, Wingo ran for 55 yards on a single carry last week against the Michigan Wolverines.
