Aaron Rodgers’ first touchdown drive for the New York Jets has been awaited by fans for 17 months. After months of anticipation and more than a year of waiting, Rodgers has finally recovered.

The Jets’ offense got off to a rough start in Week 1 against the San Francisco 49ers, with an Allen Lazard drop and a Breece Hall fumble stalling their first two possessions. However, as Rodgers settled into a groove, the Jets offense began to thrive.

Rodgers led a 12-play, 70-yard touchdown drive, giving the Jets an early 7-3 lead over the 49ers. The drive was highlighted by four tosses to Garrett Wilson for 45 yards, followed by a Hall rushing score.

Rodgers is back, and the Jets might be too.

Aaron Rodgers’ first touchdown with the New York Jets is in the books
The Jets acquired Rodgers in a deal in April 2023, expecting the four-time MVP to help the team become real Super Bowl contenders. Unfortunately, we all know how his first season with the organization went.

Rodgers tore his Achilles just four plays into his first game with the Jets. The injury sidelined him for the whole 2023 season, dashing the Jets’ hopes of competing.

But now that Rodgers has returned, there is renewed excitement in the organization. For the first time this century, the Jets are the odds-on favorite to win the AFC East in 2024. Much of this is due to Rodgers.

The Jets are hopeful that Rodgers can not only help the team end its 13-year playoff drought, but also lead them on a long postseason run. The Jets’ ultimate goal is to win the Super Bowl.

If Rodgers and the Jets’ offense continue to perform like this, they may be able to achieve their goal. Rodgers appears to be back.
