September 8th Love Update The Eagles handed the Green Bay Packers a loss on Friday night… and they were also dealt a tough break when QB Jordan Love went down late in the game with a nasty-looking leg injury… but the diagnosis is now in, and perhaps the Pack grabbed a break here. Love is now thought to have injured his MCL (not his ACL), hence it is unlikely that he will miss the rest of the season. Love’s backup is newly acquired kid Malik Willis, who went 0-for-1 late in the game and was sacked on the final play in Brazil. SEPTEMBER 7 FAILS! The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Green Bay Packers on Friday night in Sao Paulo, marking the NFL’s first game in Brazil. What about the negative news? The field conditions at Arena Corinthians appeared terrible, with players slipping and sliding throughout the game. And everyone noticed.

During the game, NBA star LeBron James led the charge in voicing worry over the field’s condition, trashing the stadium’s grass on social media. “Man, this field sucks! “GB vs PHI,” James wrote on X. SEPT 6 A WINNER Jalen Hurts might be a finalist for Most Valuable Player. He can be a Super Bowl quarterback. And it all starts now, with this Thursday night matchup against the Packers.

Head coach Nick Sirianni is a believer. “The guy is a winner,” Sirianni stated. “He’s been a winner his entire life, and he knows how to win, and he goes about that process every day to win better than anybody I’ve ever been around.” Hurts could re-establish that right now.

September 2nd is correct, right? Many believe the Philadelphia Eagles are the team to beat in the NFC East. If a media person believes otherwise… Is he a troll? Is he mistaken? Is he correct? Is he Nicholas Wright? Nick Wright, an FS1 analyst, certainly has a colorful approach to some of his ardent ideas. But when he explains why he expects the Eagles will finish third in the division and miss the playoffs entirely in 2024, he has his facts correct.

“They’ve lost six of their last seven games,” Wright observed, recalling the finish of last season. “Last season, their defense was in the lowest four in the NFL. They lost a future Hall of Famer, the team’s leader, and the best player on offense. Their coach and quarterback do not get along. OK, OK. We get it. That is FS1’s job. The Eagles’ job is to repair and overcome all of that. But what are the facts? Wright is largely correct in this regard. AUGUST 27 PARRIS OUT According to various reports, the Eagles have released WR Parris Campbell, a decision that appears to be directly related to the recent trade for Jahan Dotson from Washington.

Campbell had been considered a potential for the No. 3 wide receiver spot at various points in time, but he does not make the cut on cutdown day. AUG 26 CUTS On Monday afternoon, the Eagles released DB Parry Nickerson, OLB Julian Okwara, G Max Scharping, and QB Will Grier, the former Dallas Cowboys preseason folk hero. The Philadelphia roster, like the rosters of the other 31 NFL clubs, must be reduced to 53 players by Tuesday afternoon.

AUGUST 25 BANNED FOR LIFE? Ed Kelce, the father of NFL stars Jason (who recently retired from the Eagles) and Travis (who plays for the Chiefs), claims he has been “banned for life” from X, formerly known as Twitter, because billionaire boss Elon Musk and/or his staff are upset with Ed’s online discussion about arms dealers and their alleged ties to X… The people Ed claims “are free to peddle their wares on X, but I’m banned for life and they won’t say why, just a generic ‘Terms Of Service’ violation,” which is what he wrote. AUG 11 NEW MAN. No, it isn’t the former Broncos safety.

The Eagles have signed Caden Sterns, a former Broncos safety, and have released newly signed linebacker Shaq Quarterman. Caden Sterns is no Justin Simmons, the All-Pro who is still on the free agent list. But Caden Sterns will have to make do. At least for now.

AUG 11 LAZARD TO EAGLES? To clarify, this is a media proposal, not a team proposal. But it is floating around out there. The Philadelphia Eagles should call up veteran Allen Lazard from the New York Jets to contribute to their wideout room, which is currently led by AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith. We’re not sure why USA Today lists the Eagles as a probable landing point for Lazard, but is there a fire behind the smoke? We wonder, other from the cap savings of relocating Lazard, what the Jets get out of this “proposal.” According to USA Today, Philadelphia should provide a “late-round pick” in exchange for Lazard. But maybe they could ask his friend, Aaron Rodgers… Would you prefer to have Lazard now?
