Many people think that in 2024, Aaron Rodgers of the New York Jets will be a major player.

Perhaps none is more adamant than the legendary Brett Favre of the Green Bay Packers.

On the August 22 episode of “The Zach Gelb Show,” Favre stated, “If Aaron’s healthy, I expect what everyone else expects, that he leads that team to potentially a championship.” “Whether you know the Jets or not, their defense is really damn strong, and I don’t think anyone can argue against it. You had a shot while your defense was strong. When you include Aaron in the mix, you realize that, at this point in the NFL, there may not be a greater playmaker at quarterback starting.

“Even at his age, see his movement, ball-handling skills, and football acumen. Favre remarked, “He has the highest football IQ of anyone I’ve ever been around.” Thus, I anticipate that they will contend for both the conference title and the division title (AFC East).

Favre’s Support for Rodgers Is A Little Surprising

Favre and Rodgers’ relationship wasn’t all sunshine and roses. Or, at least, that’s how Ian O’Connor’s latest book, “Out of the Darkness,” portrays it.

On page 122, O’Connor stated, “His agent called Packers VP Andrew Brandt ninety seconds after Favre watched his team draft his replacement and set the tone for the next three years with these three words: What the [expletive].”

Growing up, Rodgers looked up to Brett Favre, and in high school, he wore No. 4 in his honor.

According to Ed, the father of Aaron, O’Connor was informed by Yahoo Sports’ Daniel Trainor that “Aaron did tell us a few things about how [Brett] wasn’t very welcoming.” “He would arrange for the other quarterback to go fishing and hunting, and Aaron would never be invited.” An additional individual close to Rodgers called Favre’s treatment “actually cruel.”

Favre claimed that the story was “news to me,” in spite of what other readers had said in the book.

To be honest with you, Favre said to Gelb, “No, I thought we had a great relationship.” “I thought we had a really good friendship. We didn’t hang out; we just watched a lot of movies together. He was much younger than me, and I went home to Favre’s wife Deanna and the girls. We shared a round of golf. Every time he would inquire, “Hey, would it be okay if I watched one more movie with you?” It didn’t cause me any issues.

It surprises me a little bit. To start with, though, I don’t watch or read anything. Thus, the only times I hear anything are when I’m performing a show like this or when I’m in a comfortable setting with folks I’ve played with. To be honest with you, I felt that our relationship was excellent.

Rodgers Has Moved Into Unknown Territory

I’ve discussed what to expect in 2024 with coaches and Aaron Rodgers’ teammates during the offseason. The response is consistent: I have no idea.

On December 2, Rodgers will turn forty-one. He recently recovered from an Achilles tendon tear. It is impossible to predict which version of Rodgers the Jets will receive when you factor in both age and injuries.
