West Indies Cricketers celebrates after defeating South African In 2 nd T20 international

In the second T20 International encounter on Sunday, the West Indies defeated South Africa by 30 runs. The loss gave the Caribbean team an insurmountable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. This comes after West Indies won the first match by 175 runs, with 7 wickets and 13 balls remaining.

The West Indies scored 179 for six after batting first, accelerating from 111 off four balls after 14 overs, while South Africa scored 149 for three with more than six overs remaining. During the match at Brian Lara Cricket Academy Stadium in Tarouba, the Proteas lost their last seven wickets for a measly 20 runs in 35 balls, being bowled for 149 in 19.4 overs and falling 30 runs short.

South African Reeza Hendricks made a terrific start in the chase, scoring 44 off 18 balls, including two of his team’s six sixes, before being bowled by Romario Shepherd. The West Indies produced a superb bowling performance.

Shai Hope starred for the West Indies, scoring 41 off 22 balls. Akeal Hosein and Gudakesh Motie made a breakthrough by removing Tristan Stubbs and Donovan Ferreira, but Romario Shepherd and Shamar Joseph sealed the deal. Shepherd Romario of South Africa took 3 for 15 in four overs, including crucial wickets of Hendricks and South African skipper Aiden Markram. Shamar Joseph contributed significantly, scoring 3-31.

South Africa’s middle order generated concern as one batter after number three passed 20 in the match.

Captain Rovman delivered 35 points while Sherfane Rutherford added 29, helping the team reach a respectable total. The West Indies smashed 13 sixes to South Africa’s six, and as a result, they won the game and the Twenty20 international series.

The West Indies currently have a commanding lead in the series after defeating South Africa, setting the stage for the final.

Rovma Powel was pleased with how his team had played. “We applied the pressure following the power play. Wickets would get us back into the game. “T20 cricket can change very quickly,” he explained.

“My team will learn from the loss and try to make things right in Tuesday’s final game. “We have a never-say-die attitude,” Markram explained.
