According to the Daily Mail, Leeds United is considering a free transfer for Swiss right-back Michael Lang in an attempt to bolster their defensive depth.

On August 23, in its print issue, it was stated on page 75 that Lang, 33, who departed Basel in the summer, was the subject of a deal investigation.

This occurs after the team successfully acquired Largie Ramazani from Almeria for £10 million; reinforcements are required prior to the deadline of August 30.

Leeds United investigates Michael Lang’s contract
With seasoned players like Luke Ayling and Liam Cooper leaving Elland Road permanently this summer, veteran full-back Lang would be a wise addition on a free transfer.

Although Jayden Bogle is listed as an arrival at Leeds United in the same position, Daniel Farke’s side is still in dire need of reinforcements.

With 31 senior Swiss caps, Lang has had a consistent European career centered mostly in Switzerland with a brief stint in Germany.
The defender has experience playing in the Champions League and has participated in three major international competitions, including two World Cups.

Ramazani’s move to Elland Road is a welcome boost, since clubs anticipate Leeds will have a difficult time in the last week of the transfer market with regard to the fees they want for players given their circumstances.
