John Calipari, the coach of the Kentucky Wildcats, will still make a visit to Rupp Arena during the 2024-25 season, though he is no longer in charge.

Calipari will travel to his former hometown for a conference game in February after reaching a lucrative agreement to exchange Lexington for Fayetteville.

The SEC college basketball schedule, released Tuesday, included the Arkansas-Kentucky tilt, which is set for Feb. 1, 2025, at Rupp Arena in Lexington. This will be Calipari’s first return to Rupp Arena since he left.

Since 2009, Calipari has been the Wildcats coach, leading the team for 15 seasons. Kentucky won one national championship and won the NCAA Tournament twelve times during his tenure.

Additionally, for several Razorbacks players, it will be a kind of reunion. Billy Richmond, D.J. Wagner, Boogie Fland, Zvonimir Ivisic, and Karter Knox were some of the Wildcats’ new recruits and players who followed Calipari to Arkansas.
