Did Aaron Judge organize a young baseball team on Staten Island’s south shore?

The Little League Classic in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, featured a meet-and-greet between young players and MLB pros from the Detroit Tigers and New York Yankees, including the 2022 American League MVP.

South Shore manager Bob Laterza told the Staten Island Advance that Judge had completely missed the event. Laterza claims Judge ignored Little Leaguers’ calls during the Yankees’ 3-2 loss to the Tigers.

‘How about turning around and waving to New York and the kids who believe you’re a hero?’ Laterza informed silive.com. ‘They pay your wage.

‘They were disappointed,’ he explained. ‘Perhaps he’ll want to make amends and see them.’

Judge was seen signing autographs for fellow Little Leaguers on Sunday in Williamsport, where the Little League World Series is taking place this week. He even posed for a photo with a member of the Staten Island team.

Laterza told SILive.com that his team was promised a meet-and-greet with Yankees players at their dormitory, but only struggling third baseman DJ LeMahieu (.194 average in 2024), reliever Tim Hill, and a few others attended.

Pitchers Gerrit Cole and Nestor Cortes, as well as promising rookie outfielder Jasson Dominguez, manager Aaron Boone, and former Yankee Nick Swisher, met with Staten Island players at Bowman Field Sunday afternoon.

Staten Island (3-1) will face Lake Mary, Florida, in the double-elimination tournament on Tuesday night.

‘We’re playing good basketball. The manager told silive.com, “We’re going to win another game or two and shake things up a little bit.” ‘After we win this event, they’re not going to take pictures with us either. Only Aaron Boone and the others that turned up!

Yankees representatives did not immediately react to DailyMail.com’s request for comment. Attempts to contact Judge’s agents were futile.
