The Collingwood Football Club has announced that Executive General Manager of Football Graham Wright would not be returning to Collingwood following his sabbatical in the United States and Europe, instead opting to pursue new possibilities.

Collingwood President Jeff Browne stated:

“On behalf of everyone at the Collingwood Football Club, I want to thank Graham Wright for his tremendous service and contribution to our club.

“Graham has spent more than 30 years in the elite AFL system, first as a Premiership player for Collingwood and then as a highly respected and accomplished administrator.

“We have had ongoing discussions with Graham during his sabbatical, and both of us have agreed that Graham should be allowed to pursue other possibilities to advance his already excellent career.

“All of us at Collingwood wish Graham, his wife Tracey and children James and Ethan all the best and every success for the next chapter.”

Graham Wright said:

“I’d want to thank the players, staff, and supporters for making my stay at Collingwood a pleasant part of my career.

“I am grateful to have been able to serve the Collingwood Football Club.”

Wright took a sabbatical in March of this year, and during that time, the Club saw a number of leaders step up to assist the AFL program.

With Wright pursuing additional expansion prospects, Collingwood is presently determining the best framework to support our AFL program going forward.

The Club will give additional updates in due course.
