Borussia Dortmund have announced a record turnover of €509m for the 23/24 season (+21.7%) and a €44.3m net profit, the second-highest in club history.

Key factor: the run to the UCL final.  Not included: transfer revenues (notably Bellingham: €103m)

Borussia Dortmund has announced record-breaking financial earnings for the 2023/2024 season, owing largely to their remarkable run to the UEFA Champions League final and robust transfer activity. The club generated a record turnover of €509.1 million, a 21.7% increase over the previous year. Their overall operating proceeds increased by 24.0% to €639.0 million.

Key components to this accomplishment include a large increase in revenue from TV marketing (€206.0 million) and match operations (€52.6 million). Furthermore, the club’s net profit increased to €44.3 million, the second highest in its history. It is important noting that these figures do not include transfer revenues from large transactions such as Jude Bellingham’s transfer, which alone generated €103 million.

Personnel expenses rose by €32.3 million to €268.5 million as the club invested in its team and staff. Despite greater operating costs, the overall financial performance was robust, demonstrating the influence of their Champions League triumph and strategic management (sources 7–9).
