Why the Rangers Will Cover the Spread and Win
The Rangers have had a disappointing season and will most likely miss the playoffs after winning everything the previous season. Unfortunately, things have gone wrong in all directions. Their hitters have generally been inconsistent.

Marcus Semien remains the leadoff hitter, hoping to get the offense moving. So far, he is third on the team in home runs and RBIs, while leading the club in hits. Corey Seager recently broke up a no-hitter to avoid infamy and currently leads the team in home homers. He now plans to continue smashing the ball into the seats, and he is on track to hit at least 30 home runs. Wyatt Langford has not had a great debut season. Regardless, he intends to end 2024 on a positive note.

Eovaldi has made two strong starts in three games and four in seven. Finally, he intends to stop the Bronx Bombers. When Eovaldi finishes, he will hand the ball over to a bullpen that ranks 26th in baseball in terms of team ERA. Kirby Yates has been the bullpen’s only bright light, finishing 4-1 with a 1.08 ERA and converting all 20 save opportunities.

The Rangers will cover the spread if their four top hitters can hammer the ball and score some runs. Then they need Eovaldi to avoid blunders against some of the world’s most dangerous batters.

Why The Yankees Will Cover the Spread and Win
Despite losing two of three games at home to the Los Angeles Angels, the Yankees remain one of the greatest teams in the majors. Despite this, they remain in a strong position to maintain their lead in the American League East. Their lineup is among the greatest in baseball.

Anthony Volpe is the leadoff hitter, looking to get things started. Expect him to be a touch more patient, forcing Eovaldi to make some extra pitches. Juan Soto has been a pleasant addition to the Yankees, ranking second on the team in home runs. Teams will eventually give him opportunities to hit because they are concerned about the player behind him. Aaron Judge is drawing intentional walks, which may keep him from reaching his 62-home run milestone from two seasons ago. But he will still be a threat to hit the ball into the stands. Giancarlo Stanton is back and eager to support Judge. Significantly, he remains a huge danger at the bat in all situations.

Cole has battled to maintain consistency since his return from injury. However, there are glimmers of hope and promise for the old Cole to return. When Cole finishes, he will hand the ball over to baseball’s fourth-best bullpen. Clay Holmes is the closer, despite having a 2-4 record, a 2.70 ERA, and only 24 save chances in 33 opportunities.

The Yankees will cover the spread if their lineup continues to produce. Then they need a strong performance from Cole.

Final Rangers-Yankees Predictions and Pick
The Rangers are the third-worst team in MLB at covering the run line, while the Yankees are top ten. Similarly, the Rangers are the second-worst in MLB in covering the run line on the road, while the Yankees rank in the middle. Last season, the Rangers won the season series 4-3 and finished 5-2 against the run line. The Rangers are 11-3 against the run line in their last 14 games versus the Yankees. Despite their troubles, we anticipate the Rangers to contend in this game and maintain their recent success.
