Jeremy Swayman

The Boston Bruins have one more significant move to make this summer, as standout goalkeeper Jeremy Swayman is still without a contract. With more than a month into the summer, some Bruins supporters are getting impatient about the lack of a contract.

However, former Bruins goaltender Andrew Raycroft is not concerned that Swayman remains unsigned. He also presented a constructive perspective on the situation.

Raycroft stated on WEEI’s The Skate Pod that he had no concerns about the Swayman contract talks. There are no updates, and I haven’t heard anything. Everyone’s gone. Everyone in the hockey world is gone. Everyone has left since July 7, when the last development camp in the league closed. There’s no reason for fans to be concerned about a deal before September. September 1 is when you might be able to start thinking or talking about it, and they still have two weeks (before camp).

Raycroft is unquestionably someone fans should trust, as he is a former NHL goaltender who spent 11 years in the sport’s most prestigious league. This is also the slowest time of the hockey season, as seen by the lack of movement across the NHL. However, as we approach closer to training camp, there is little doubt that a Swayman deal not being completed would cause even more concern.

With Swayman as the Bruins’ definite long-term solution between the pipes, a deal will be struck.
