In addition to the deal that sent Jazz Chisholm Jr. to the Bronx, the Yankees made a few minor movements, which you can track using MLB’s handy tracker. The bullpen has been trimmed, and we’ve seen the impact Jazz has had in his first three games, but the club has stayed away from some of the more significant trades we’ve seen. The Yankees were unsuccessful in signing Jack Flaherty, who later joined the Dodgers, and Yandy Díaz remained with Tampa.

The Athletic | Ken Rosenthal: Speaking of Flaherty, the Yankees reportedly passed on the righty due to injury concerns. Hurler Cam Schlittler and catcher Engelth Urena have been promoted to Pipeline’s Top 30 Yankee prospects, but the top ten stays same as the team has decided not to move any of the marquee names.

Tampa Bay Times | Marc Topkin: Remember Brett Phillips? New York Post | Greg Joyce: DJ LeMahieu is likely to be the greatest loser in the Jazz Chisholm Jr. deal, despite the latter’s already impressive performance at third base. DJ’s new duty is as a defensive replacement and probable bench hitter, with the expectation that he will relieve Ben Rice at first base late in games.

Finally, Will Warren was optioned after a strong performance in his MLB debut on Tuesday night against a tough Philadelphia lineup. He held his own for 5.1 innings of four-hit work, but New York will need his spot on the roster to accommodate new reliever Enyel De Los Santos, who arrived today from San Diego.
