LeBron James’s relocation to the Los Angeles Lakers enabled his son, Bronny James, to attend Sierra Canyon High School, a top academic and athletic institution in California. Bronny joined the basketball team, where he famously collaborated with Zaire Wade and Ziaire Williams.

Bronny was undoubtedly the most well-known name, but Bailey and Pippen are also pursuing successful basketball careers.

Sierra Canyon School is a private, coeducational day school in Los Angeles that prepares students for university. Their famous graduates include Marvin Bagley III, Bryce James, Kenyon Martin Jr., Scotty Pippen Jr., Juju Watkins, and the aforementioned Wade and Williams.

Sierra Canyon School teammates Bronny James, LeBron James Jr., and Amari Bailey competed against Millennium High School in the 2019 Hoophall West basketball competition held at Chaparral High School.

Wade and Williams took the spotlight as Bronny’s teammates, but there are several other significant players. Amari Bailey was one of those teammates, averaging 29.2 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game during his junior year. He was named California Mr. Basketball, MaxPreps California Player of the Year, and Gold Coast League MVP.

Bailey has committed to Mick Cronin and the UCLA Bruins. He finished his freshman season averaging 11.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in 30 games, earning Pac-12 All-Freshman honors. He went one-and-done in college, declaring for the NBA Draft after the season.

The Charlotte Hornets selected him with the 41st overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. His NBA debut came on November 12, 2023, against the New York Knicks. During his debut season, he played 10 games and averaged 2.3 points per game.

Who is Zaire Wade?

Wade is the oldest son of NBA legend Dwayne Wade, whom Bronny’s father notably collaborated with in Miami. Wade switched to Sierra Canyon for his final season in 2019 and earned scholarship offers from several prestigious universities before turning professional.

He joined with the Cape Town Tigers in 2023 to play in the Basketball Africa League. He scored 17 points, a career high, in a game against Ferroviario da Beira.

Wade opted to depart the Africa League for the 2024-25 season, joining the Macau Black Bears in the ABL. He also appeared in 12 G League games for Salt Lake City in 2021-22, averaging only 1.8 points per game.

Who is Ziaire Williams?
Williams attended Sherman Oaks Notre Dame High School in Los Angeles for the first three years of his high school experience. He transferred to Sierra Canyon for his senior season, joining Bronny James and Zaire Wade. They also had a teammate in BJ Boston, a five-star recruit.

Williams was a consensus five-star recruit and the top small forward in the 2020 recruiting class. He received offers from Arizona, USC, North Carolina, and UCLA, but chose to attend Stanford instead.

Williams committed to Stanford for his freshman season and averaged 10.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game. Williams was a top prospect in the 2021 NBA Draft, and the Memphis Grizzlies selected him 10th overall.

He spent three seasons with the Grizzlies, with career averages of 7.5 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.2 assists. Williams’ Grizzlies career was hindered by many injuries, notably a knee injury in 2022-23 that forced him to miss the first 24 games of the season.

Williams will join a new team to begin the 2024-25 season. This offseason, the Brooklyn Nets acquired Williams and a second-round pick in exchange for Nemanja Dangubic’s draft rights.
