Edward Cedano (SP) pitched 1.2 innings with 4 earned runs, 3 walks, and 4 strikeouts.

In the first of two scheduled games on the day, the DSL Braves were defeated by the Padres 8-2 in 7 innings.

After both teams were held scoreless in the first inning, the Padres scored in the bottom of the second. The Padres scored eight runs in the first, four of which came off Braves starter Edward Cedano, who lasted only 1.2 innings. The Padres led 8-0 and added a run in the home half of the third to go up 9-0.

In the top of the fourth inning, the Braves finally scored. After Michael Baez and Manuel Dos Passos hit consecutive singles to start the fifth, Joan Acevedo singled into left field to trim the score to 9-1.

In the top of the sixth inning, Michael Baez led off with his second single of the game and advanced all the way to third on two wild pitches. Then, Dos Passos hit a sacrifice fly into center field, plating Baez to make it 9-2.

However, the Braves’ offense would be limited in this game, as they lost the first game of the day.

(9-20) DSL Braves, 0 (8-22) DSL Padres Brown 1 (Suspended)
Michael Martinez, RF: 1–1.
Yander Pinero, SP: 2.2 IP, 3 hits, ER, 3 walks, and 2 strikeouts.

What was supposed to be a makeup game from June 4 would have to be postponed again because Mother Nature had other plans.

The Braves and Padres went scoreless in the first two innings until the Padres scored one run off Braves starter Yander Pinero in the top of the third.

That would be all of the action in this one, as play was halted in the top of the third.
