With training camp quickly approaching, the Philadelphia Eagles have the tenth-most cap space remaining in football.

There will undoubtedly be a lot of movement across the National Football League over the next few weeks as free agents who have been holding out for fresh possibilities start to sign contracts and teams trim rosters down.

Philadelphia, like the rest of the league, will have to make some painful decisions while also weighing potential additions. With little under $25 million in cap space available, the Eagles might make at least one substantial roster addition.

If the Eagles want to acquire some depth, one candidate to consider is former Green Bay Packers All-Pro tackle David Bakhtiari.

He has only appeared in 13 games over the last three seasons, but he appears to be ready to go when the 2024 season begins, unless he suffers a setback in his injury recovery.

Philadelphia already has one of the top offensive lines in sports, but it never hurts to add someone of Bakhtiari’s caliber at a low cost. From 2016 to 2020, he was named an All-Pro for five consecutive seasons before injuries slowed him down.

The Eagles rely heavily on the run, so it wouldn’t hurt to acquire offensive line depth. However, if Bakhtiari is fully healthy and even looks like he used to, he could add significant value without breaking the bank.

At this point in the offseason, several veterans will begin to leave the league in free agency. Bakhtiari will find another opportunity soon, and it would be ideal if it were with Philadelphia.
