Kemba Walker, who was known for his amazing clutch gene in college and later became an All-Star, has officially retired from basketball. There were several things he was recognized for, such as his time with the Charlotte Hornets. However, he also contributed significantly to the development of the Boston Celtics’ lethal combo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. So it was only natural that the NBA Championships honored a former soldier.

“I am done playing. It was a hell of a run. It was a run that I still can’t understand today. I still can’t believe what I’ve accomplished in my basketball career, especially with all of the uncertainty that I had coming in,” were Kemba Walker’s final remarks before retiring from basketball.
Everyone in the NBA was understandably startled by the decision. He still had some energy to provide, but he wasn’t getting any more opportunities in the league. The 34-year-old most recently played for the Dallas Mavericks. He played nine games with them before heading overseas. Nonetheless, Brown and Tatum expressed their affection for him via Excel Sports.
“It was an honor and privilege to be your colleague. “From a kid who literally grew up watching you in the NCAA Tournament,” Tatum explained.
While this was a disappointing finish to his career, his influence cannot be underestimated. He contributed to the Celtics’ current success. Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum improved their all-around game thanks to his ball-handling and playmaking abilities. After all, he played two seasons with the Celtics before joining the New York Knicks.
Even after his departure, he continued to have an influence on the Celtics. His deal brought then-Oklahoma City Thunder veteran Al Horford back to the Celtics in 2021. Beantown then re-signed its former leader, Moses Brown, and received a second-round selection in 2023. Jordan Walsh was acquired with the 2023 NBA Draft pick. He ended up assisting both the main Celtics roster and the G League team in Maine.

His tenure with the Celtics
His time with Brad Stevens was likely his final great period. In two seasons, he averaged 19.9 points per game and made 42.3% of his shots from all three levels of the field. Furthermore, he averaged four assists per game to help the Celtics win. Unfortunately, he was unable to play with an enthusiastic TD Garden chanting his name since those two seasons occurred during the epidemic.
Walker’s contributions to the Celtics were not limited to offensively. He was also an excellent backcourt mate for Marcus Smart. He averaged a theft a game with the now-Memphis Grizzlies guard, which is strong proof of this. This crew greatly valued his overall performance.
It was a long career that would eventually come to an end. The Celtics fans should simply be grateful that they were a part of this incredible run by a famous player.
