NHL free agency has officially begun, and a flurry of trades have been done thus far. The Boston Bruins are one team working hard in free agency, and they have already signed a couple players.

The Bruins began by signing Elias Lindholm, according to Chris Johnson of The Athletic.

‘Elias Lindholm signs a seven-year agreement with the #Bruins worth $7.75 million AAV.

Lindholm’s arrival in Boston is a significant development for the Bruins. He had spent the previous six seasons with the Calgary Flames before being moved to the Vancouver Canucks at the NHL trade deadline this year. He recorded six goals and six assists in 26 games with Vancouver, and he added five goals and five points in 13 postseason games.

The Bruins subsequently reached to terms with Nikita Zadorov shortly after, signing him to a six-year contract, according to Darren Dreger.

‘6 years, $5 million per year for Zadorov in Boston.’

Zadorov was also with the Flames for a while and played alongside Lindholm before being moved to the Canucks in December of last season. Lindholm and Zadorov have teamed up again, this time with the Bruins, after both signing excellent contracts to open free agency.

One concern is the duration of Zadorov’s contract (six years), as he will be 30 in April. However, the veteran has been a valuable asset to several clubs, and he will now begin a new chapter with the Bruins. Zadorov has 20 points this season, including six goals and 14 assists, while playing 75 regular-season games with the Flames and Canucks.

After reaching agreements with Elias Lindholm and Nikita Zadorov, the Bruins didn’t stop there. According to Ty Anderson, they have reached an agreement with former Anaheim Ducks wing Max Jones on a two-year contract.

So far, the Bruins have been aggressive in their free agent pursuit. After finishing as the Eastern Conference’s second seed, they were defeated in six games by the Florida Panthers, who went on to win the Stanley Cup in a seven-game series against the Oilers.

However, the Bruins are trying to bring another Stanley Cup to Boston and have already done well in free agency with a few marquee signings. The NHL free agency period has only just begun, but the Bruins have been among the most active teams thus far.
