Caitlin Clark has made her biggest shot of the WNBA season. Unfortunately, it appeared in a comment about her Indiana Fever coach.
Clark’s statement appeared to be directed at Indiana head coach Christie Sides. Following Indiana’s 89-77 loss to the Seattle Storm on Friday night, Clark was asked for the finest piece of in-game advise she had received this season.
“No one provides me advise in game. “I wish,” she replied.
That sparked outrage among fans, who immediately rushed to social media to question Sides’ function on the team if she wasn’t providing advise.
“@fever Remind me again…Why is @ChristieSides the Head Coach again?”‘”
“Sides needs to go,” said another.
Sides and Clark exchanged words during last Sunday’s game against the Chicago Sky, which could have strained their relationship. Clark only attempted two shots in the final seven minutes of the game, which many saw as a strategic blunder.
