Brad Keselowski weighs in on how much longer he’ll drive for RFK

Brad Keselowski has just spoken out regarding his future in NASCAR as the 2024 Cup Series season approaches its second half. While speaking with Kevin Harvick on Kevin Harvick’s Happy Hour, the 40-year-old driver discussed how long he will drive for RFK Racing.

“This past week, someone asked me, ‘How many more years do you want to go?’ “I said, ‘I left the Coke 600 thinking if I had five more laps, I could win the race,'” Keselowski explained. “Then it rained, and I got out of the car after the race and thought, ‘I have ten more years.

“I was in North Wilkesboro for the All-Star Race a week or two prior, and I believe we finished next to last. And I was like, ‘I can’t do it anymore. I’m out. You go through an emotional roller coaster. In terms of health, I feel wonderful. It’s not truly a health issue. It’s essentially a mental test of how long you can ride the emotional roller coaster. One of my main motivators is that I want my children to see me win races. Many people believe that when a race car driver has a family, he loses some of his competitive edge. I nearly feel the opposite. I want my children to see me as a winner.”

Keselowski stated that he wants his children to have the “core memory” of him winning races, as he had with his father. “I think that connects to how long I want to race because my youngest kid is seven months old,” he told me. “That almost contradicts the stereotype. “I want to stay longer for my children.”

Brad Keselowski is enjoying a fantastic 2024 Cup Series season.

Keselowski is not showing any signs of slowing down. Along with his win at Darington, Keselowski has six top-five finishes and is now ranked 10th in the Cup Series standings. Keselowski’s win at Darlington is his first for RFK Racing, which he joined in 2022. He has spent the most of his career with Team Penske, with whom he won the Cup Series title in 2012.

“What a heck of a day,” Keselowski said following the Darlington race, according to NASCAR.com. “It’s Darlington, so whether it’s your first or last win, this is a truly special track. The history of NASCAR is as tough as it gets, and that battle at the finish with my teammate and Tyler Reddick, when we just lay everything on the line, was freaking fantastic.”
