Lakers LeBron James Bryce James dunk Bronny James draft

LeBron James, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar, must be feeling very proud right now. First, his son Bronny James is preparing for the NBA Draft, and his younger son Bryce James’ poster dunk in a game earlier this week has gone viral.
LeBron certainly enjoyed it. And he made sure everybody knew about it by posting his reaction to Bryce’s attack on Instagram.

The offseason is shaping up to be a significant one for LeBron James and the Lakers. After flirting with Dan Hurley of UConn, the team recently signed James’ podcast co-host JJ Redick as its next head coach. As a first-time head coach, Redick, like the dismissed Darvin Ham he replaces, will be under a lot of pressure to win right away with the Lakers’ current roster.

Of course, whether the Lakers have enough quality to contend in the Western Conference is a different story entirely. But, regardless, Los Angeles supporters expect Redick to win with this squad.

Additionally, James can opt out and become a free agent this offseason. While it is not surprising that he will opt out of his player option and re-sign with the Lakers, especially now that his friend is coaching the team, it would be surprising if he chooses to sign elsewhere.

Rumours have already circulated that LeBron James will join any team that selects his kid Bronny James. Rich Paul, LeBron’s agent, has attempted to dispel the rumours.

“LeBron is off this idea of having to play with Bronny,” claimed Paul. “If he does, he will. But if not, he doesn’t. There is no agreement that if the Lakers draft Bronny at 55, he will resign. If that’s the case, I’d make them take him at 17. We do not need leverage. The Lakers can draft Bronny as long as LeBron does not resign. LeBron is also not moving to Phoenix for a minimum contract. We can squash that right now.”

The Lakers are rumoured to be interested in picking Bronny in this month’s NBA draft. That doesn’t mean it’s certain to happen. Nonetheless, Paul made it apparent that LeBron may still re-sign with the Lakers even if Bronny goes elsewhere. He stated that James may sign elsewhere, even if the Lakers choose Bronny.

At the end of the day, one has to believe that picking Bronny James in the NBA Draft would improve the team’s prospects of acquiring LeBron, even if the future Hall of Famer’s return is not predicated on it.
