Buffalo, New York (WKBW) Buffalo Sabres General Manager Kevyn Adams is beaming as he prepares for the 2024 NHL Draft.

“It’s the busiest time of the year; I love this time of year; it’s awesome,” Kevyn Adams told me.

Adams anticipates several difficult decisions in the coming weeks, the most notable of which being the probable buyout of veteran winger Jeff Skinner’s contract.

“With Jeff, in particular, at the end of the season, I thought there was true honesty back and forth between him and I,” Adams said.

The 32-year-old forward is Buffalo’s highest-paid player, but his production dipped significantly last season. Skinner found himself skating on Buffalo’s third line as the team ended another poor season.

Although dropping from 82 to 46 points in a single season is alarming, Adams insists that Skinner is always a valuable asset.

“I can safely say that I have a lot of respect for Jeff. He’s certainly an excellent offensive player in this league, and he’s been doing it for a long time; he’s scored a lot of goals,” Adams stated.
