Despite the fact that the practice started at 10:00 a.m., the weather at Laguna Seca was much warmer.

Because of the higher temperatures, lap times were lower than on Friday, and drivers were spotted sliding all over the 2.24-mile course.

Colton Herta mastered the circumstances the best, clocking a lap time of 1:08.2300. The hometown hero was second quickest on Friday and appears difficult to beat early in the weekend.
Will Power set the second-best time, a few tenths of a second behind Herta and very slightly faster than Alex Palou in third.
Scott McLaughlin, the fastest racer on Friday, repeated his performance on Saturday, clocking in fourth.

Pato O’Ward sat atop the pylon for much of the practice, but dropped to sixth when time ran out.

David Malukas improved his time in his Meyer Shank Racing #66, becoming more comfortable behind the wheel despite missing the first part of the season.

He finished slightly behind Josef Newgarden, who had a very bad run in the morning session.

Christian Rasmussen had the most memorable incident of the session, losing control of his #20 Ed Carpenter Racing Chevrolet on Turn 10.

He cruised through the gravel and collided with the tire barriers, causing damage to both the left rear and left front of his automobile.
