Rich Paul explains why Bronny James is rejecting workouts with almost every team.
Bronny James has only worked out with the Lakers and Suns, and his agent Rich Paul has explained why.
“This is nothing new,” Paul explained to ESPN’s Jonathan Givony. “The idea is to locate a squad that values your player and push him to get there. It’s critical to understand the backdrop and recognise that this has always been the strategy for many of my clients over the years, particularly those in need of growth like Bronny. My stuff is purposefully designed.
“Bronny is the same as my prior customers. I made it clear to teams early on that if you intend to bring Bronny in, here’s what you should know: If you don’t give him a fair deal, there’s nothing to discuss. A two-way agreement makes it difficult to achieve real progress. I don’t care if he goes to the Lakers or Phoenix, or what number he gets. It’s all about the fit.
Rich Paul said that LeBron no longer wanted to play with his son.
“LeBron is off this idea of having to play with Bronny,” claimed Paul. “If he does, he will. But if not, he doesn’t. There is no agreement that if the Lakers choose Bronny at 55, he [LeBron] will re-sign.”
Paul even stated that Minnesota, Dallas, and Toronto all “loved” Bronny, implying that his client would have lots of options.
The NBA draft is planned for June 26-27.
