Diaby wants to get low

Joe hasn’t seen an extreme physical specimen freak like Yaya Diaby at edge rusher since Jason Pierre-Paul was in his peak, and Diaby is determined to get even freakier.

The man is 6-3, and Joe has heard Diaby is currently a chiselled 270 pounds, bigger but leaner than last year.

It is a marvel. Hopefully, this converts to sacks. Diaby was a standout rookie last year, with 7 1/2 sacks, and his total would likely have been greater if Todd Bowles had given him more snaps early in the season.

Diaby stated this week that he works out on a regular basis and strives to make his physique larger, stronger, and faster. He’s also trying to play lower in order to maximise all of his power.

“I often caught myself high while watching films. I play hot, so I’ve been focusing on playing low and with excellent hand placement,” Diaby explained.

Diaby went on to say that he’s learned that he frequently needs to lower his punch in order to consistently move offensive linemen.

When Joe watches Diaby, he thinks of all the rookies who played for the Bucs last season on both sides of the ball.

If each of them takes the positive steps that are expected of great rookies, the Bucs will be incredibly dangerous and deep this season.
