Premier League clubs such as Arsenal and Chelsea have previously bought players from Manchester City, including Gabriel Jesus, Cole Palmer, Raheem Sterling, and Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Now that another summer transfer window has begun, a journalist has identified another London team that may seek to sign a current City player.

Manchester City’s summer transfer window 2024: Confirmed arrivals, departures, loan exits, and releases
According to a journalist, Fulham could consider a potential Kalvin Phillips deal.
Pep Guardiola, Manchester City’s head coach and manager, meets with players Kalvin Phillips and Sergio Gomez before bringing them on as substitutes.

In a recent post on his X account, journalist Dean Jones expressed his thoughts on the topic.

According to Sky Sports, City spent £45 million for Kalvin Phillips from Leeds United during the summer transfer window of 2022.

After starting only six of the Blues’ 31 games, the midfielder was loaned out to West Ham United during the preceding January transfer window.

During his time at the East London club, the Englishman only started three of the eight Premier League games he played between February and April.

Phillips’ performances in those eight league games earned him a relatively unsatisfactory overall season rating of 5.89/10 on WhoScored, making him West Ham’s lowest-rated player.

The city should sell Phillips this summer.
As Jones noted, Joao Palhinha has been heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich, who have had two bids for the midfielder rejected by Fulham, according BBC Sport.

Given how poor Phillips was when given the opportunity to play for the Hammers, it appears odd to us that Fulham, even if they are without Palhinha next season, may turn to the City outcast to replace the Portuguese international.

Regardless, we believe the wisest option for all parties this summer is for City to sell Phillips, who Danny Murphy stated last month would be better suited joining Everton if they received an offer for him.
