College football players who leave other colleges for the University of Alabama are successful.

During the Nick Saban era, several athletes from various programs joined the Crimson Tide and played a role.

Jacob Coker, Richard Mullaney, Gehrig Dieter, Landon Dickerson, Jameson Williams, Jermaine Burton, Terrence Cody, Jarran Reed, D.J. Pettway, and Jaylen Key, among others, helped the Tide win conference and national championships as transfers. LT Overton, a transfer defensive lineman from Texas A&M, is pleased to be at Alabama.

He talked to Roger Hoover of Crimson Tide Sports Network about his experience. Overton, a former five-star in the Aggies’ top-ranked 2022 recruiting class, recorded 48 tackles, three for loss, a sack, and eight quarterback hurries in 23 games over two seasons.

The 6-foot-5, 265-pounder explained why he chose Alabama from the doorway.
“I always keep my mind open,” Overton told Hoover when asked about his transfer choice.

“I don’t want to rely solely on one item, but after narrowing it down, Alabama seemed like the obvious choice. They mean business. You know that coming to Alabama will result in success.”

Overton will get the opportunity to be coached by Kane Wommack, his defensive coordinator.

Wommack, 37, is a youthful coach, but Overton says he has a ‘old school’ vibe about him.
