“I’m in best shop window” – Fulham player believes he doesn’t need national team to generate interest, PL does it regardless

Fulham star João Palhinha today had a word with the Portuguese media at the national team camp.

Even though the major focus was the friendly versus Finland and the preparation for the Euros, the rumours concerning the midfielder’s future were once again discussed.

As stated by A Bola, Palhinha was asked whether the continental tournament may be a showcase for him to transfer elsewhere. But he didn’t want to feed that story.

“I’m already in the best shop window. I’m talking about the English league, of course, which everyone sees and knows about. Whoever does well will have a lot of visibility. Let’s see what happens over time. I honestly don’t think the Euros will change anything,” said the Fulham player.

“The work I’m doing at Fulham shows what I’m capable of. I consider this Euros as another challenge in which I want to show my value, I know what I’m capable of and being here, in the national squad and at the Euros is a source of pride for me and my family.”
Palhinha came close to leaving Fulham during negotiations with Bayern Munich not long ago, but with the change of management at the Bundesliga side, there haven’t been strong reports of a new attempt to land the midfielder.

The 28-year-old’s quality continues to generate considerable attention from European giants, though, and we shall see if any more teams will move for him this summer.

Portugal have a good team for the Euros and that could undoubtedly allow Palhinha to exhibit his skills, but that doesn’t seem to be something on his mind ahead of the tournament.
