Jackson Chourio struck a three-run blast, enabling the Milwaukee Brewers to upset the White Sox 6-3 on Sunday. This prolonged Chicago’s losing run to 11 games, season-high.

Gary Sánchez added a two-run single, and in the eighth inning left fielder Christian Yelich made a pivotal throw to home plate, keeping the White Sox from matching the score. The leaders of the NL Central finished a three-game sweep with this triumph. Reaching a season-best 13 games above.500, the Brewers (36-23) have lately won five straight games and eight of their past ten.

Chicago, with a 15–45 record, has lost 15 of their previous 16 games and presently has the poorest major record. Paul DeJong’s homer and two RBIs however did not help to stop their losing run.

Chicago threatened to score in the eighth inning, but Yelich’s throw to home plate caught Tommy Pham out, so maintaining the Brewers’ one-run lead.

Contreras and Pham had a contentious argument following the play. “I didn’s know what he was saying in my direction,” said Contreras. Pham saw things differently, though, stating, “I’m nailed out at home by a mile. I hear the tough guy, Contreras, with all the hoorah (crap). Though I never start something, I’ll be ready to wrap it up.
