Celtic are poised to sell Mikey Johnston in the summer transfer window.

The Daily Record has named 15 players who could leave Celtic Park in the summer, including Johnston.

The Bhoys did not experience a pleasant road in the 2023-24 campaign, but they ended up winning the SPFL and the Scottish FA Cup.

However, Celtic need to make quality additions to move forward and Brendan Rodgers could be seeking to shed a host of marginal players.

Johnston has risen through the Celtic youth divisions and has made over 90 appearances for the club. He has been a competent squad player but never really shone bright enough to become a regular first-team member.

Rodgers vented his fury over the form of Johnston and sent him on loan to West Brom, a decision that has worked brilliantly for him.

Johnston was one of Carlos Corberan’s key players, managing seven goals and two assists last season. The Daily Record says that Celtic are set to get “many millions” for the 25-year-old player as a result of his strong loan performance.

Who else could leave Celtic?
The Bhoys could be looking to boost their forward department, and Rodgers has made it clear that he wants Adam Idah to join permanently. If he joins, Oh Hyeon-gyu could depart the club. The South Korea international has scarcely featured and failed to make an appearance since February.

Gustaf Lagerbielke joined last summer and might have departed the club in January. He has failed to make an effect and his exit looks increasingly likely. Yuki Kobayashi is another defender who failed to manage a single minute of first-team play for Celtic this year, and his exit looks imminent.

Matt O’Riley could depart the club as well. Ideally, Celtic will want to keep him at the club for as long as they can, but numerous big clubs are pushing for his signature. He can go for a huge amount with Newcastle one of the clubs hoping to have him on board.
