Isaiah Wright, a former Buffalo offensive lineman, committed to Maryland on Tuesday, head coach Mike Locksley revealed.

Wright, who has two years of eligibility left, has spent the previous two seasons manning the Bulls’ offensive line. He started his college career at Rutgers.

In 2023, Wright started 11 games for Buffalo, five at left tackle and six at centre. He tied for third in the Mid-American Conference with the fewest sacks allowed.

In 2022, he started all 13 games at left tackle for Buffalo, which finished in the top five in the conference in scoring offence, overall offence, and passing offence.

Prior to his undergraduate career, Wright was selected a USA Today All-New Jersey honourable mention and helped lead St. Peter’s Prep to an 11-1 senior season. He also played an important role in his team’s 2019 Non-Public Group 4 Championship win.

Wright is a much-needed acquisition after the Terps lost all five starters on last year’s offensive line.
