Newcastle and Chelsea are competing to sign Tosin Adarabioyo.

Chelsea and Eddie Howe’s side are both interested in the Fulham defender, with both teams reportedly in discussions to sign him this summer.

The Blues and The Magpies are two of the most powerful financial forces in English football, and this match-up promises to be intriguing.

So who will Tosin sign with this summer? According to Fabrizio Romano on The Debrief, the situation is highly fluid at the moment, although Newcastle are reported to be the favourites to recruit the centre-back this summer.

Tosin Adarabioyo of Fulham watches the Premier League match between Nottingham Forest and Fulham FC at City Ground on April 2, 2024 in Nottingham.

Newcastle’s favourites to sign Tosin Romano gave information on the Fulham defender.

“First and foremost, this is an open situation. Newcastle remain my favourites, as they began working on this deal in March. Tosin is still being discussed, but I believe Newcastle are the favourites.

“Chelsea has been interested in Tosin since the last week of March, and they are well-informed about him.

“I’m not aware of any developments with Chelsea. I’m not sure what Chelsea has decided; I believe the situation is still fluid, with Newcastle wanting to make it happen.

Tosin may be better off joining Chelsea.
Newcastle are considered to be the favourites to sign Tosin, although a transfer to Chelsea may be more beneficial for the defender.

The centre-back currently resides in west London, having played for Fulham in recent years, and he will fit in well with Enzo Maresca’s style of play, having been mentored by Pep Guardiola during his youth at Manchester City.

Newcastle’s project may be more intriguing than Chelsea’s, but Tosin’s personal preferences may lead him to Stamford Bridge rather than St James’ Park.
