Fulham 'submit bid for 25-year-old Bundesliga winger'

Fulham ‘make bid for 25-year-old Bundesliga winger’
Fulham have reportedly filed a €8m (£6.8m) deal for Stuttgart forward Silas.
The 25-year-old experienced a strong end to the Bundesliga season, coming off the bench to score in two of Stuttgart’s final three fixtures.

Those strikes helped Stuttgart surge above Bayern Munich and secure a second-place finish — the club’s highest position since winning the title in 2006-07.

However, Silas will look back on the campaign with some sadness having being relegated to a bench role for huge stretches of the season.

Silas had to settle for eight starts in 27 top-flight appearances, with Sebastian Hoeness preferring to deploy the likes of Jamie Leweling and Chris Fuhrich.

Fulham table Silas bid
The winger remained at the MHP Arena for the second half of the season after Fulham supposedly failed with a bid in the winter transfer window.

That failure has not deterred the Premier League side, who still look to be keen to recruit the DR Congo international.

According to Caught Offside, Fulham have revived their interest with a €8m (£6.8m) approach to recruit Silas ahead of the 2024-25 season.

The story indicates that the Cottagers may have to boost their proposal, with Stuttgart looking for a charge in the range of €16m (£13.6m).

The German club are thought to be open to selling Silas and have already begun the search for a suitable successor.

Fulham aiming to strengthen in key areas
After having to settle for a 13th-place finish, Marco Silva is eager to enhance his squad over the summer months.

They are clearly anxious to bring in striking reinforcement, with uncertainty surrounding the future of veteran winger Willian.

The Brazilian is out of contract at the end of June and apparently has offers on the table to complete a move to the Saudi Pro League.

Although Fulham wish to keep Willian’s talents, it remains to be seen whether he would put pen to paper on a new one-year deal.

As well as improving their wide options, Fulham will need to bring in a new defender to replace out-going centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo.

The former Manchester City man is expected to transfer to Newcastle United when his Fulham term runs out at the end of June.
