Celtic Park’s legendary “best atmosphere” game is named by Joe Hart

The 3-2 Scottish Premiership title party victory against St Mirren last Saturday at Celtic Park marked Joe Hart’s farewell game for Celtic.

This weekend, in the Scottish Cup Final 2024, he will play his last game for Brendan Rodgers’ team and, in fact, his last game of his professional career against Rangers.

With six trophies under his belt since joining the Parkhead side in the summer of 2021, the 37-year-old will be playing in his 49th game of the season. In his three years in Glasgow, he has seen a lot.

The seasoned goalkeeper has seen many different sides of Celtic Park, having hosted the likes of Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League, as well as a number of high-profile rivalry matchups.

The Englishman has now disclosed which match he believes had the best atmosphere while he was a Paradise player.

“The 3-0 night game against Rangers when we took the lead in the league,” Hart remarked in a Twitter Q&A conducted by the official Celtic account (X). “There’s been plenty, Saturday included, but that was pretty mind-blowing.”

That evening, on February 2, 2022, Liel Abada and Reo Hatate scored twice in front of a packed Celtic Park to propel Ange Postecoglou’s team to the top of the Scottish Premiership, where they would eventually win the championship later that year.

“The Rangers game on the night when we won 3-0 and gained the league lead. That was extremely astounding, but there have been more, including on Saturday.”#SuperJoeHart🍀 The URL is t.co/FcHaP9bVJY. tweet.com/sKgjnEtBe1

Regarding the goalkeeper’s best memory of wearing a Celtic shirt overall, Hart selected the title celebrations from the previous weekend.

“My favourite moment was Saturday,” he stated. “It was one of my favorite times wearing boots and gloves.

“I’m incredibly grateful to the Celtic family and the club for welcoming me and making me feel at home right away. As long as I’m welcome, I’ll be a part of the club forever!”
