Liam Kelly is expected to join with Rangers following his Celtic link. On Saturday, April 22, 2023, during the thrilling Premiership encounter between Celtic and Motherwell at Celtic Park, Kelly is wounded.

The news that Liam Kelly is close to joining Rangers will come as a relief to Celtic supporters. The 28-year-old, a former player and supporter of Rangers, was linked to the Scottish Champions in what would have been an unexpected move.

According to a story published earlier this month, Celtic was thinking of replacing Benjamin Siegrist, who may leave this summer, with the Motherwell goalkeeper.

Following the expiration of his contract at Fir Park, Kelly may have agreed to sign a deal to join Rangers this summer, according to a report from the Scottish Sun.

Rangers are eager to compete in European events with both club-trained and homegrown status. Meanwhile, Celtic will need to keep searching for a goalkeeper to take Siegrist’s spot and—more importantly—find a replacement for Joe Hart, who will hang up his cleats following Saturday’s Scottish Cup Final.

Kelly might be a part of the 26-man Scotland National Team roster that will be revealed on Wednesday morning for Euro 2024. Kelly’s inclusion could come as a surprise considering that he was the Premiership’s statistically poorest goalkeeper.
