Director confirms interest in Fulham player – The club has been in communication with Silva’s team for several months. Last summer, Fulham loaned Kevin Mbabu to FC Augsburg without the option of making his stay permanent.

Last month, the defender expressed interest in staying with the Bundesliga club, but sporting director Marinko Jurendic was unsure about his future.

According to the Augsburger Allgemeine, the German club’s efforts to keep the Fulham player have progressed.

This season, the Switzerland international has two assists in 24 league appearances, and his performances have persuaded Augsburg to re-sign him.

Augsburg ‘have been in communication’ with Marco Silva’s side for’several months’. It is also alleged that the director has been in contact with all parties concerned in an effort to reach an agreement on the right-back.
“Now we need to see if there is a solution. “We’re interested, but we’re not in control,” Jurendic explained.

Mbabu’s contract at Fulham runs until 2025, therefore the summer transfer window will be their last chance to collect a fee from his departure.

Augsburg might acquire the former Newcastle United player, or the Whites could extend his contract and loan him to the German club again.

Augsburg’s right back Robert Gumny has been sidelined with a major knee injury since March, thus the necessity to improve the position in the coming window is stronger.
