That is not what you like to see.

The Kansas City Royals hosted the Blue Jays on Tuesday evening for the second game of a four-game series. The American League Central squad defeated the Jays 3-2, improving their season record to 13-11, enough for fourth in the AL East.

The low-scoring game began with a single by Justin Turner, which allowed George Springer to score, giving the Jays a 1-0 lead in the top of the third. The designated hitter is presently batting.310 for the season; such a fantastic signing.

Toronto took a 2-0 lead in the top of the fifth inning on an Alejandro Kirk sacrifice fly. While it’s wonderful to get a run, it doesn’t tell the whole story because the bases were loaded with one out and Isiah Kiner-Falefa flew out to finish it.

The Blue Jays would rue the missed opportunity, as Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s error with two outs sparked a calamitous inning in which the Royals scored three times. This is a simple play that needs to be produced.

Kevin Gausman had a great start, finishing with 6.2 innings, 7 hits, 0 runs (3 earned), 1 walk, and 2 strikeouts. The great stuff isn’t quite there yet, with only four whiffs in the evening, but this was undoubtedly his greatest start.

Daulton Varsho has been nothing short of outstanding this season, and he hit a double, walked, and struck out once in this game. This is the Daulton Varsho they traded for, and he is a significant reason they are currently above.500.

George Springer had a solid game, hitting three singles and striking out once. Springer has struggled this season, but the Jays desperately need his bat to get going.
