The story of Ohio State standout Dwayne Haskins’ death could take an unexpected turn.

A disturbing new fact has emerged following the untimely death of former Ohio State football standout Dwayne Haskins.
The collegiate football community was stunned to learn of the death of former Ohio State standout quarterback Dwayne Haskins a year ago, but there is now an unexpected new development in the aftermath of that tragedy.

This week, attorney Rick Ellsley of The Ellsley Law Firm issued a press statement indicating that a lawsuit was filed on Haskins’ behalf based on “previously unseen evidence.”

“Many questions remain unanswered about what happened in the hours leading up to Dwayne’s death,” Ellsley’s statement read.

“It is thought that Dwayne was targeted and drugged as part of a robbery and extortion plot. In reality, his pricey watch was taken just before he died.”

Haskins’ abrupt death and the circumstances surrounding it sparked a slew of questions, which investigators attempted to answer.

The medical examiner’s report stated that Haskins had been drinking frequently and had a “significant amount of alcohol in his blood” before being hit and killed by a dump truck on a roadway in south Florida while training with Pittsburgh Steelers teammates.

The medical examiner determined that Haskins died as a result of blunt force injuries and ruled the death accidental.

According to reports, Haskins was hit by a truck at 6:37 a.m., and two 911 emergency calls showed that he was walking to acquire gas for his automobile.

The medical examiner reported that Haskins was attempting to wave down motorists on the highway for a lift before being struck and murdered.

Haskins spent three seasons at Ohio State, but the majority of his time there came in 2018.

He was 13-1 as a starter, completing 70.1% of his throws for 4,831 yards, 50 touchdowns, and eight interceptions.

Haskins rushed for 108 yards and four touchdowns on 85 carries.

Ohio State lost only in the regular season that year, to Purdue as the second-ranked team, but went on to score 62 points against Michigan, defeat Northwestern in the Big Ten Championship Game, and defeat No. 9 Washington 28-23 in the Rose Bowl.

The Washington Redskins selected Haskins with the No. 15 overall choice in the 2019 NFL draft. He appeared in 16 games for the Redskins/Football Team, completing 60.1% of his passes for 2,804 yards, 12 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions.

On January 21, 2021, Haskins signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers, gaining third-string status behind starter Ben Roethlisberger and reserve Mason Rudolph. He was inactive for the most of the Steelers’ 2021 season, with the exception of one game.
