Kalen DeBoer gives a statement on sexual assault involving a Washington player.

A shocking revelation has surfaced online about Kalen DeBoer’s former institution.

According to the Seattle Times, Tylin “Tybo” Rogers, a University of Washington running back, has come under fire for suspected sexual assault (rape) of a woman but has remained on the team. He is also under investigation for raping another woman and reportedly attacking a bicyclist in the University District last month. According to the story, Rogers’ first sexual assault occurred last season. DeBoer was the Huskies’ head coach in 2023, when the team won the Pac-12 Championship and advanced to the College Football Playoff National Championship Game. Rogers appeared in 12 games last year, amassing 184 yards rushing.

“While I am not able to comment specifically on the situation involving an individual at my former institution because of federal privacy laws and the ongoing criminal matters, I do want to make it clear that I take any allegation of sexual misconduct very seriously,” DeBoer said in a statement released on Thursday. “I always have and always will follow established institutional policies and procedures to ensure prompt reporting and proper handling of allegations by the appropriate authorities.”

The 49-year-old is preparing the Crimson Tide for Saturday’s A-Day game at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
