Tony Alford opted to depart Ohio State’s football team for Michigan just a few weeks into spring practice. That puts the Buckeyes in the unenviable position of having to hire a new guy while the players are still putting in work.

Ohio State football supporters were dissatisfied with his decision to leave. It isn’t that he left (Ryan Day nearly fired him this offseason), but who he departed for. He elected to go with the team and program that the Buckeyes despise the most. It is about him taking action against the rivalry.

Alford resorted to social media to justify and insult Ohio State fans. Take a peek at the posts below.

Fans were quick to respond, demonstrating that it is not the fact that Alford left, but that he did so for TTUN. “It is not that you departed. One Twitter user said, “Of all places, you went to the opps.” “It isn’t about your departure; it’s about where you went instead. “I hope this helps!” wrote another.

As you can see, Ohio State fans are unhappy with Alford. When it comes to Ohio State football fans, he has effectively become the public enemy number one. I’m sure many of Buckeye football players have similar ideas that haven’t been shared with the public.

This season, Ohio State has already gone all in. Beating Michigan is the most crucial goal this season. As if losing the previous three encounters to that team wasn’t enough, this occurs. I’m confident that the Buckeyes will have plenty of bulletin board content.
